The first web page went live on August 6, 1991.

It was dedicated to information on the World Wide Webproject and was made by Tim Berners-Lee. It ran on a NeXT computer at the European Organization for Nuclear Research, CERN. The first web page address was

I always did wonder what the first website was haha. Quite the link though. 😛

Make then there wasn't browsers and so it was very very limited and not everyone had the option to visit it. So it was created in away that they can see it lol looking on an green screen just about

I never have though about the first ever website. We also have to thank Tim-Berners-Lee since he created HTML. A language that actually get's used a lot in todays world while bigger companies use things like C#, Java, PHP, ASP.net and a bunch of other languages for website creation.

It’s crazy how the internet has developed over time. Technology has definitely come a long way since 1991.

It definitely is amazing to think how far we've come... Interesting read, thanks for sharing!

I remember being on the internet very seldom in the 90's but I do remember those horribly designed sites from the time. Bad image placement and horrible music playing int he background. They still haunt me lol Pretty interesting to see the first site ever made though.
