I was looking into my google analytics and it showed out of the whole report from the past month, I've had 1 result from google to my site for a search term.

I couldn't believe it. I'm only a little over a month old and I'm already being found by google for search terms.

How can I keep this going?

Just make sure you add unique content, submit your site to search engines and just get activity to your site. 🙂

What is the search term? If it's very unique, then you could probably get that in a few days, but if it's generic, like "blog", then that's pretty good.

Googles ranking sytem has been modified, they now employ rank - ranking, not totally sure how it works, but basically the more popular the sites you have links on are, the higher you will be ranked, this is couple with click counts, indexed URL's, sitemaps and a whole host of other stuff to decide on your sites ranking.

The system according to Google is to reduce the effect of people who charge for clicks.

I've also been told that installing a google search bar can help your ranking too, but if you got this far in a month you are doing something right, so keep doing it and let us all into the secret.

netsavy006 well done on getting found through Google. Your primary concern should be on providing a quality community for your members. That's what will keep them coming back and telling their friends about your forum. This word of mouth communication will possibly be the most important factor in promoting your site.

To keep improving your traffic from the search engines, keep adding unique quality content to your site and build links back to your forum, using your keywords as anchor text.

They've doing that for years. It's called Page Rank and you can read more about it here on Google.
