Text is poor on both of them, read the rule of thirds to understand placement.
#1 is lacking depth. You need to define a proper light source and dodge/burn on the BG to refine the focal. Render seems poorly cut too. It has potential though, a good WIP I'd say.
#2 is just too simple, nothing to it, nothing to CnC.
