Most states still haven't reported in yet, but CNN is projecting the Republican party will gain control of the house and at least 50 seats there, as well as a smaller number of gains in the Senate. As of this post, these are the standings:

What are your thoughts?

Jerry Brown is likely to become the governor of California. Good think I'm moving.

Repubs got owned in the Senate but handily won a lot of House seats.

I'm not sure what to think of this election. If you take a look at all the Governor elections, other than 7 states, at least 20+ Republicans won Governor seats. Oh well, a Dem won for NY so I'm happy haha.

They actually picked up 6 Senate seats.
Yeah, but considering the general "Democrats are losing everything" vibe that has been portrayed, 6 seats is a huge disappointment.

The House really votes for nothing if you think about it. If the Dems have control of the Senate, that means a lot more can be passed.

I guess.

I'm pissed that Brown got elected Governor of California. He is a moron. He admitted he had no idea what he was doing the last time he was in office.

I'm glad prop 19 failed. (Marijuana legalization)

Kino, if you look at how Cuomo wants to do things (eg balance the budget for once), he's fairly conservative. However in social aspects he's liberal.

DEVAL PATRICK! YESSSS!!! After 2 solid weeks of 4 hours of volunteering a day, I can say this volunteer coordinator is a happy guy.

You won't be in 4 years. In 4 years the residents of MA should be able to identify how much of a smuck he is and excommunicate him from the state. Don't believe me? Patterson did the same thing, but 4 years earlier.

Well yeah, I mean I wasn't really happy with any of the candidates. But I mean Cuomo won by at least a million votes.

How is he a smuck?

inb4 "he spent money on an expensive car" because if that's the worst he does, who really cares? 1st in the nation in education? MA. 3rd State out of the recession? MA.

Judging by the fact we've already had him for four years, the voters must like him.

Judging by the fact that 52% of the population voted against him, even in a fairly liberal state, the voters surely hate him.

Haved you looked at the taxes and the amount of waste in the government in MA? Not as much as NY, but surely tons more than necessary.
And "1st in the nation in education" isn't necessarily correct. How are we comparing the states? Note that most of the New England states are in the top 5, depending on the site that compares the states. So really there is little statistical difference.
