So, two weeks ago I was a complete noob at graphics. I literally didn't know the first thing about using a real photo editor, unless you count cropping stuff in GIMP. 😛

But then, I downloaded Adobe Illustrator, and fell immediately in love. After watching a 45 minute video, I was able to make stuff which is pretty good. I'm not a master yet, but I honestly did not expect that I could do as well as I did. I'm pretty impressed.

Do any of you all use Illustrator? Do you agree with how easy and awesome it is? 😀

I have a copy of Illustrator, but I've only used it for simple things. It seems like a very, very powerful program, but I don't know how to use it that well. Could you possibly link me to the video that you watched? 🙂

I have a copy but rarely used it. I will be learning how to use it here in the near future. I've spent too many years on Photoshop that it's hard to relearn. My suggestion to you, get good at logo design, watch tons of tutorials. Logo design = very good money. :]

I have it but I have never opened it! I just keep to Photoshop 😛

This describes me, too. I never really used it, I just have it sitting around. I know Photoshop well enough, it gets the job done, so why bother? I don't really make a lot of stuff anymore, either.

I'm in the same situation as most everyone here. 😛

I own the program though my non-profit, but I haven't learned how to use it at all! Does anyone have a good tutorial or course on how to get the basics?

I'm like the only person who does not have a copy. 😛 It's pretty expensive to buy the software, no?

And whats the difference between illustrator and photoshop?

I am into graphics designing so it is imperative for me to understand and make vector graphics and for that I use both Illustrator and Corel Draw.

I llustrator is one mighty powerful tool like all adobe applications I must say and I was pretty intimidated by it before I started it but now I am mostly designing on illustrator only, though there's still a lot to learn and as it goes with other adobe products you can never say you are a master of any of them cause even those who create them aren't masters.

If you want to see my works on illustrator I will provide you the link.

Illustrator is a MUST for any designer! I used to not really like the program when I first started years ago but around two years ago I started to really fall in love with it. I use it for almost everything now, with exceptions of photo editing and web designs in Photoshop and Lightroom.
