Description: 37 is my latest forum - just 3 weeks old - and is a general discussion forum that revolves around a blogging system, in which users may request a sub-forum and very basic moderating permissions to use as their 'blog' for essentially whatever they want. Though at the moment its community consists mostly of young adults, any one could fit in on 37, and while blogging is its lifeblood it also features, among a few other things, graphic design and debating forums. They shall be added to as the demand for other specific forums increases, but otherwise our general discussion forum is quite active and covers everything else.
Being an iPBFree forum it features mods such as an arcade, store (not fully operational yet), reputation system and topsite for anybody wishing to affiliate. In just 3 weeks our 34 members have made a total of over 1100 posts and while the forum is admittedly struggling in its infancy we have many things planned in the hope that it will survive - perhaps most notably the purchase of a domain name.
In relation to forums, a saying by Emerson is remarkably relevant - "Activity is contagious." My members know that if they make just 10 posts a day, those 10 posts will be responded to (more often than not), allowing them to respond, and so on, and so forth. I joined my first forum at a critical age and was made a "caretaker moderator" of the then-37 member site. By the time I left it had 40,000 members, and I account account much of the person I am today - intellect-wise - to the time I spent in constant interaction - reading and writing. I'm not trying to gloat, I'm trying to show that that's what a forum can do, and if you join 37, it might just do something great for you. 😛
