3D Printing

Hey all,

I recently bought a 3D printer week before last. I am finding that it is really fun to mess around with so far. Mostly, I have just printed random stuff I have found cool. I am currently working with Fusion360 to try and learn designing my own STL files, products, etc.

I went with a fairly cheap one to start off - but it has exceeded my expecations as far as printing quality, etc. It could be slightly faster, but I will be buying a more advanced one eventually.

My printer: Ender 3 V3 SE

Anyone else mess around with 3D printers here? What have you created?

You can make some really neat Christmas presents with that!! Play around with designing cookie cutters? Or door corner decorations that sit on the corner of the door molding.

That's pretty smart! I'll have to mess around with the design software. Thanks for the ideas!

I would love to get a 3D printer someday, it would be cool to make action figures or figurines for board games. I worked with a guy at my previous job who would do that, he even 3D printed me a Sonic statue too as one of my parting gifts I got when I left my previous job!

That’s awesome! I recommend getting one if ever given the chance.

I wasn’t sure if I’d like it a lot - but so far it’s been really fun creating stuff. I think it’ll be even better once I get a printer that allows for multi coloring.

I got an Ender years ago and got too stressed trying to set it up. I recently got a Bambu Lab and despite the bad company choices, I've been having a lot of fun with it.

Nice!! I’m trying to decide on if I should get the Bambu P1S Pro Combo or a Flashforge ADX5

Both are on sale right now for good prices, but not sure if I want to spend the $670 for a P1S right now.

I ended up buying this Friday Bambu Lab P2S. I am super excited for it to get here and try it out. It will be fun to do multicolor prints!!

During Black Friday I picked up some bits to protect and restore my filament:

• food dehydrator
• vacuum ziplock bags
• desiccant balls

Nice!! I need to get a good dehydrator. I’m not sure what I’m going to print first yet. I haven’t been able to mess with it much due to work this week. But I’m going to give it a test run tomorrow

Yeah I’m looking forward to being able to do multiple colors. That will be fun. Now I just have to buy more filament 😂
