Do you think someone who is accused of committing a crime 40-50 years ago can get a fair trial today? Are we now subjecting people of that era to today's morals? If we convict someone using today's DNA methods, does that mean we should reopen every case that's ever happened? Do you think reopening a case, such as a civil rights case from the 50's, can re-damage a town's reputation? Thoughts?

HMMM, Who needs proof and is there enough proof from back 40 to 50 years ago to do that?

It depends on the crime. I think rape, molestation, and murder would qualify.

Because of the advancement of technology today which wasn't available many years ago, I think it will be fair to reopen a case of 40-50 years if there are new evidences that can prove the ignorance of such person in the crime.
