Who has over 50 members on their forums and if so how long did it taken to reach the 50 members mark?

Who hasn't got 50 members mark?

I'm running a forum with a total of 35 members and most of them are from FP in doing exchanges. It's been a long long hard work just to get 35 members. I seen websites get allot of new registered members joining and I'm getting one a week if I'm lucky. Last person registered was 11 days or so.

Anyone experience this and got ideas

My forum has been open over 6 years so yeah... Sometimes we get new members like crazy and sometimes we can go nearly a month without getting a single new member.

Forums aren't the best hobby if you want instant gratification.

I have been getting a steady flow, lately no new members, but it s hard to attract new members at times, no matter what you try, unless you giving away free beer or something lol

I havent got 50 on one of mine, I havent even got 5 yet ive been offline periodically so it's been difficult, the other one is doing pretty well but it takes time and a lot of work it felt like forever in the early days at the other one hoping for people to join but it does happen, best of luck with it im sure youll be posting again soon to let us know you've more than fifty 🙂

I only have about a hundred members so far. But that's because I've been rather lazy as far as promotion and posting content goes.

I do that anyway, Posts being posted on Twitter and Facebook, done giveaways.

A few. Though hey, I'd say it's less about the members and more about the posts.

I'd be a lot more proud of a forum with say, 20 or 30 posts a day by a small group of members than one with hundreds of members and maybe one post every three days or so.

My site is getting members, but not really getting posts. And really, a forum needs activity and posts to survive, not statistics.

My forum has been online for a little over one month and open to the public for less than one month. We reached the "50" member count yesterday... We also have almost 2500 threads.

Well, mainly advertising and promoting. I include a link in my signature on all sites. My blog has several followers, so I posted an article about it there. Also, I have a decent follower base on various social media platforms. Generally, everyone keeps telling me I'm awesome (not joking lol) and that's why they joined. We just hit 51 members and 2500 posts today.

It toke PromotionEra a month to reach 50members. All I did was promoting, advertising increased the traffic but not the members count. We reached 670posts&55members and I am happy with the results because I am the only one running PromotionEra and have done this by myself. However I wish I had a team helping me 😉

Maybe, or you could just consider the forum to be a structured chat room for those few active people. It can be nice talking to a stranger on the other side of the world, and them reciprocating with no ulterior motives.

I think many people are in this boat, but I think it also depends on the forum, how it looks, what topics are already there, etc.

It all comes down to how you promote, where you promote. For each site its going to be different because each site is different. I think my biggest advice is to have a site that is appealing, both in looks and structure, and then promote it like no tomorrow. Build connections with people and spread the word. It's easier said than done but some sites just don't kickoff right away.

I'm definitely working on the appealing part regarding Graphics. And I'm considering to give copies of Microsoft Office 2010.

I do advertise allot. Social media. On FP, website signature. Word to word. I'm thinking to recruit more staff since I'm the only one.

My admin forum has been opened since April and it currently has 74 members. I use theforumwheel sometimes and actively engage in post exchanges when I can, but not very often. My main slogan when I'm building an online community is if I build it, they will come, so just continue on building up your content, do some promotion, and spread your content around on all the various social media outlets. You can easily increase your user counts, just remain focused and continue to work hard.

theforumwheel? I checked it out and see it's not big compared to FP. On the members list I see allot of accounts still being pending. And very costly for getting paid service's or unless doing exchange witch I'm doing here anyway.

It can definitely be tough sometimes. We actually recently went through a major pruning and trying to come back from that has been quite the challenge.
