69 SEO tips

Not a bad article. Seems like no one likes to talk about header tags (h1, h2, etc.) and directories, but still good, basic, and helpful tips.

not bad article, out of 69 there are only like 50 tips there. They repeat a lot of the same stuff they say but rephrase it and use it as another seo tip.

Some useful tips in it. I like the way they describe SEO as an art form rather than a science, very true.

Thanks for sharing I guess. Got some good tips for beginners there IMO

If any of you have other sources of what you might consider rich information, I'd really appreciate a link.

20. Stay away from shared hosting.

I was intrigued by this one and as to why any search engine would penalise you for it.

Is it purely because it's a shared server, or is it the problems that can occur with a shared server that can hurt SEO?

If your site is slow or experiencing downtime because of your host, that can negatively affect your SEO. However, I really don't think there's a reason to stay away from shared hosting, if you get a quality host and your site is not big enough to warrant a VPS or dedicated server.

As long you are a reliable hosting company i don't see why shared hosting would hurt you. As long they don't have a lot of down time.

Thanks, that's what I thought and just wanted to make sure. I'm quite happy with my host, my site has only had an hour of downtime in the 12 months that I've had it and my site isnt quite yet large enough to warrant a dedicated server.

thanks for the info! its going to come in very usefull!

Thanks. Interesting about the shared hosting. VPS is so expensive for a small forum that shared is necessary. I wonder why he did not tackle free hosting?
