One of the best ways to increase traffic to your blog is through guest blogging. Put article marketing on hold for now; guest blogging is a more powerful strategy. This is because you're writing for an established community interested in your topic, whereas article marketing targets random readers whose interests are unknown, leading to less engagement. Here are 7 strategies to become a successful guest blogger:

1. Know Your Target Audience
Guest blogging means writing for a different audience than you are usually used to. Different blogs have different audiences, so to create a successful guest post, you must understand the audience of the blog you’re writing for. Take the time to read as many posts as possible on that blog. Learn how the audience responds and, once you understand the atmosphere, you’ll have a better idea of what to write.

2. Submit Only Your Best Content
We all tend to have our good and bad days when it comes to writing. When guest blogging, you're staking your reputation as a blogger or expert. Only submit your best content. Polish it up as much as possible before submitting. Simply put, if you give your best content, you’ll get the best results.

3. Give a Strong Call to Action
Don’t just write your guest post and leave it at that. This isn't the spirit of guest blogging. Share your best tips, but include a strong call to action to encourage readers to visit your blog. Without this, you’ll miss out on significant potential traffic. However, avoid promoting your product or service in your guest post, as it can be off-putting. No one likes that. The best call to action is to ask readers to visit your blog or subscribe to your newsletter.

4. Eliminate Errors in Your Writing
To get maximum consideration from the host blogger, eliminate all types of errors, such as grammatical, spelling, and punctuation mistakes, before submitting your guest post. Errors are unprofessional!

5. Engage with Your Readers
Once your guest post is published, it will start receiving comments from regular readers of the blog. Don’t miss this opportunity. Use it to communicate with readers and build a good reputation. Engaging with them, and you increase the chances of readers visiting your blog.

6. Find a High-Traffic Blog
If your goal is to gain recognition and reach new audiences, you can't just guest post on any blog. Look for high-traffic blogs that align with your content and see if they’ll let you publish a guest post. Browse directories like Technorati, which lists thousands of blogs in various niches.

7. Write, Publish, Sleep, Repeat.
To succeed as a guest blogger, you must be consistent. Find high-quality, high-traffic blogs and see if they’re interested in you becoming a regular guest blogger. You can do this for multiple blogs if you have the time. Even if some blogs only want a single post, don’t miss out on these great opportunities.

Know that guest blogging is an effective method for attracting new traffic to your blog. Follow these strategies, and you can become a successful guest blogger.

Thank you for the information, i want to add one more: Remember to always respect the blog's guidelines and audience, and continue to engage with readers even after your guest post is published. By consistently providing valuable content and building relationships with other bloggers, you can grow your audience and increase traffic to your own blog. Guest blogging takes time and effort, but the results can be well worth it in the long run.

Number 2 is really important.

You should always intend to write a better post than your last one.

It should address the needs and wants of your audience. Answer their hardest questions with easiest answers and you'll win their loyalty over.

And no matter how much Google changes its algorithm, creating the best content will always help you rank up on search engines.

I have a simple strategy, if you don't get paid for your guest don't bother it. Instead focus more on publishing on your own blog.
