Is there a huge quality difference? I can't really tell a difference between 1080P and 720P videos on Youtube. But, I upload videos as 1080P because the option is available on Youtube.

Not a huge quality difference, but it's still 360 more horizontal scan lines.

Dunno, I always use the lowest possible quality (360p I think it is.) As my internet connection struggles even at that. However, if you really where to have some amazingly fast connection, then clearly the higher would be the best as long as it plays back fine without buffering every second.

Well, you're most likely not going to notice the difference if your monitor isn't HD 1080P.

My computer won't play 1080p youtube videos without it stopping for half a second every few seconds 🙁

This, you really need a monitor designed to handle 1920x1080 resolution.

I don't see the point in having HD youtube videos. Most videos are a couple minutes long and are usually a waste of time

I agree most videos are not worth watching in HD except for movie trailers or Game trailers.

I use HD for music videos a lot (try watching a Japanese pop video in 360p... hmph).

On Youtube, there's really no point in watching HD videos. 1080p is at its full potential at a 16:9 aspect ratio, whereas most monitors have a 4:3 aspect ratio (such as mine). If you were to watch a 1080p YouTube video in full screen, the only way you can get all 2,073,600 pixels is if your monitor is 1920x1080 (an aspect ratio of 16:9). This might not make a lot of sense, but my recommendation is don't watch 1080p videos unless you can get the full experience.

And plus, it really sucks up your bandwidth.
