I've often been told that I'm a real, down-to-earth woman, because I pay for my own stuff, have my home and don't wear make-up or don't have plastic surgery. What is gentlemen and ladies, according to you personally, a "real" woman and man?
A real man is supposed to be mature. I don't know another definition. Well, some might say it's about muscles and stuff, but I think it's about the attitude.
I think in recent times the so called attributes people used to use to described a "real" woman or man have changed dramatically and mostly for the better.
In fact I'd go as far to say equality which generally allows anyone male, female (or other) to pay for their own stuff, have their own home, wear or not wear make-up or have plastic surgery has rendered the term redundant to some extent.
To be described as 'down-to-earth' is far more important to me. It says to me you are well grounded, someone who can to be trusted. A real asset to society.
I don't think there's any point in discussing what a real man or woman is, but rather what a decent grown-up should be. The qualities that define being decent are not gendered imo.
It doesn't matter what gender you are. That doesn't define who you are. Being responsible, having a good work ethic, having good morals, & making hard choices is what makes us civilized. I believe that is what makes us real men and women.
