Another stupid bill. I'm not going to bother explaining everything, but long story short, it's going to change the way we live. From the way I see it, it's worse than S.O.P.A/P.I.P.A. This bill will kill the internet.

What makes this worse is it was drafted by Government officials in secret which basically means that they want this passed quickly and in secret before something can be done about it. Although information on it is a bit shaky because various sources cover different things it's basically the worse thing the internet could ever face. Not good.
 
I agree. Don't quote me on this, but I heard that it had already been passed in UK (in secrecy, of course).
 
I don't think it has because if it did it would have been the headline for some days and also things would have changed. It would have been obvious if it had.

Write link me to a protest site against this now. Anyway it won't have been done in the UK yet because for the last few weeks I've been watching a lot of films online.

Its gonna kill the internet huh? I guess thats why even after lets see 7+ countries including the U.S.A have signed it the internet is still up. I am not for this bill at all,but claiming it will kill the internet is pretty silly.

Thankfully some countries like germany and the netherlands still respect privacy to a certain degree.
 
This treaty was signed several weeks ago by the UK, USA, Canada, New Zealand, and a few others. It would enable them to act in any country that has signed it. Without SOPA/PIPA/whatever else, this means nothing. If SOPA were passed, ACTA means it is in affect everywhere, and not just the US.

Wake me when these bills actually pass. Until thin Im not going to waste my time learning all about something that might not even effect me.

@ theezy: If everyone acts like that, it will pass, and no one will have any idea what happened. If nobody had done anything about SOPA, it likely would have passed some time ago.
 
I'm not bashing against you or anything, but that isn't exactly proof. I could find just as many articles in a heart beat saying that it A.C.T.A isn't passed.

EDIT: They're both the same article anyway. o.o
