A few idioms I've heard

Hey, they are a few idioms I've seen on other boards and on the tv shows and couldn't figure out the meaning on my own, as you know, never really had too much training in English. lol. What does "girding our loins" mean and "rib someone"? And also "getting hitched"?

getting hitched means your getting married. girding our loins means "prepare for the worst" or "prepare to defend yourself." I never heard rib someone.

Ribbing or ribbing on someone means to tease them.
