A Gaming Directory

This is just a idea I had the other day, but has anyone ever made a gaming directory forum which it's purpose was to allow anyone with a gaming site to advertise their forum?

It would pretty much be a advertise forum but only for gaming sites. Do you think this is a worth idea that should be tried out?

I don't really see why an advertising board needs to be focused to one genre? What can a board focused solely on gaming board promotion achieve that a general promotion board with a Gaming forums genre sub-forum can't?

I think directories for certain genres can sometimes work (like in the case of roleplay forums since there's such a massive variety) but I can't really see it working for gaming forums.
