So basically, I'm going to be starting a project soon and need some help or ideas about it.
Now, I understand that the whole "General chat" theme is overused, but that's pretty much all I'm best at. Anyways, the forum will be a sort of..."young adults hang out"? If you would call it that. I need help on a name, something catchy and that could relate to young adults.
I know you have already stated you understand General Chat is over used. It will make making the forum successful very difficult because there are thousands of them out there. I would suggest a different genre 🙂
General Discussions forums work out when you have an established group of friends to populate the board. Others will see the activity and possibly join.
As for a name for a forum for young adults..

So you're wanting to aim the community at Teens and Young Adults? I looked for a good 10 minutes, and couldn't find any good domain names for you. 🙁
You just gotta stay with it and if you do plan to stay afloat, make sure you have a good team, you're passionate, and you're encouraging content creation by the community and your team.
How theezy saw , you need a small group of friend , start with them and promote your forum , that will help you to go on tops .
About General Discussions , are overused , that is true , but the problem is because not any GD forum have succes , you can have because you choosed a good theme for discussions.
I mean "theme" , you need to have and a good skin for it , try to use XenForo or phpBB3 , this are the best , if you want to pay little bit , try IPB.
