So, I'm working on a forum right now, and I was thinking of making a forum for those who are 18+ (to say it honestly, a lot of more mature stuff). Is this a good idea or should I just leave it?

Shouldnt be a problem. Some forums you go on have one and you will never even know.. Well until you prove yourself to be a mature person / adult then you might get an invitation from an administrator.

I have one, after you 100 posts you get access to a trusted section. Which contains adult content, special releses, ect.

Well not everyone tells the truth about their age when they sign up. But it isn't a bad idea. Go for it

If you really wanna do this, use a forum provider that allows of adult material.

Most adult forums dont have any porn pictures or links like you might think. Its just more adult / grown up / mature discussions.

No. 1 thing is that if the mature stuff you are mentioning includes adult stuff then obviously your hosting will be offshore and in a generalized way they are expensive so be ready for it upfront 🙂

Now about the idea it is upto the users if they are underage but want to see the stuff then it's not your fault they can see it from one way or another

Doesn't Hawkhost allow for adult material on their servers?

I have a ''mature discussion'' forum on Be Creative. More or less, it's a debate forum for controversial issues (religion, politics, sexuality etc). We don't actually allow our members to post porn so I'd say that we can allow minors to view it within the constraints of the law.

After all, there is nothing there that is worse than you would find in a newspaper (politics) or a sex ed class.

If the children are intelligent enough to be on your forum it's nothing that they can't find in Google anyways. They have the IQ to avoid it though, huh?

well the content you have mentioned is definitely not described as illegal or 18+ in any rule book so it's basically upto the users to whether see it or not

Thanks for all the feedback, guys. I think I've absorbed your info together and made my decision on how it will be layed out.

Again, thanks!

I dont see a problem with them. But I'm an adult and I don't really care about those forums* Just never read anything interesting from them and usually they became a bit too much imo.
