Hi guys/gals.
I have a pretty big problem on my forum.
You see, there are way more registered users than there are posts.
I have over 7000+ registered users and only 4000+ posts.
You see, my forum is about dragonfable, mechquest, runescape and all those popular games.
I make trainers for them. So I get a lot of traffic everyday on my forum.
however, barely anyone makes a post. People just visits my site and download the trainers and ditch the place.

So I need some suggestions on how to remedy this problem.
any ideas?

my site's url is:
http://pkdudegames.co.nr
if you want to see for yourself.

You could set it to people have to post X amount of times to be able to view a forum and download the trainers.

Aye, I tried
But I'd have to do this manually
But I can't because over 600 people downloaded my trainers over a 2 week period.
I can't catch up.

Ahh, just noticed you are on a free forum host so my idea isn't possible. It is possible to do with a mod and it will be automatic but you can't install it on a free host.

That's why I hate forum hosts. These days I use a host like novahost.org and my own downloaded phpBB3. Much better than some forum host that charges a couple dollars a month to add their little open source modifications they probably found off of Google or at least are no better than ones you could find with a search engine. (I.e. Freeforums.org).

Exactly, i would never go back to a free forum host. The amount of control you get hosting the forum yourself is massive compared to free hosts.

ZetaBoards (The host of my forum) actually has a member promotion by posts thing, rofl. Maybe he could use that.

switching to ZB would involve losing the 4,000 posts he already has and the 7,000 members. Not really an option if you ask me. Though ZB offers a website maker option for free, unlike freeforums.org (which I think he uses as his portal looks similar to the portal they use) a webhost, even a free one, is a few times better than the competition. Whether you go with phpBB3 (for the win), MyBB, Vbulliten or IPB, Web-hosts destroy the competition.

Get phpBB, SMF, or MyBB, buy a domain, and get a host, and you'll be set.
Sounds like a good idea. Still, the domain is optional if you ask me, or at least to this issue. A web-host which is either paid or as good as paid (if you could find one) would be good combined with phpBB3.

Good point. The reason I never quit using ZetaBoards was losing a little under 2k posts, anyway....roflcopter.
