a really bad forum host!

has anybody ever used createforum?

i go to a forum hosted by them, and it is so bad! they have like no support staff. at one point, the staff they do have disappeared for 2 months.

I sure wouldnt want hosting with no support team, it would just plain out suck.

Funny you should bring up this topic, I was actually contacted by CreateForum as they wanted a new website design.

Having designed one and coded it, they changed their mind and refused to pay me for their efforts. I have seen a few forums on their network and they don't see that bad. I guess you'd be okay if you didn't need support ~razz~

Ive used proboards, freeforums.org, and invisionfree as far as forum hosts and I have to say that IF was the best... But paid hosting is definately the way to go.

40,000+ Posts, over 100 members and they won't let you move..at all?! ~surprise~

See that really gets to me, when a free host quite literally stops your site from moving anywhere. Do they at least let you park a domain on your forum?

From what it sounds like the admin doesn't really care much for the network...more likely than not he's in it for the money from the ads than the opportunity to help out a lot of people who can't afford hosting.

Shame really, even so i'd try working something out. I'd get off the network as soon as possible ~smile~

Most hosts will allow you to get a backup, but probably for a fee though

Luckily my host is good. I think I actually used CreateForum once..
It was terrible, I then bought a vBulletin.

yeah they have a forum for support on createforum, but the staff disappeared without notice. they also don't seem to know what they are talking about either. there is a constant problem where anything hosted with them won't load for some members for hours to days at a time, and they ignore the multi-page thread full of users complaining about it.

Yeah I would love to have some great support also.
