A thread that can go in two forums?

There are times when I've posted on Crafter Craze for a craft, but it can go into two craft category forums...should I just make a copy of that thread and post it in the 2nd forum? Or should I slightly change the thread wording for the 2nd thread to put it in the other forum? It doesn't make sense at times to only have it in one forum, because if people are searching, it's easier to find it if it's in two categories. If you aren't a craft person, you wouldn't understand probably?

There's also this add-on that lets you automatically make all threads in a subforum appear in the parent forum. The difference between this and thread symbiotics is that this add-on makes the subforum threads automatically populate into the parent so each thread doesn't need to be assigned one-by-one.

Those sound like interesting add ons.

Do you think it's okay to have similar threads though on one forum?

Well, with those add-ons it's the same thread that gets replicated on additional forums of your choosing. So if someone clicks on the thread from either forum, they're connected to the same chain of posts.

I probably wouldn't personally duplicate the thread and change it slightly and have a whole other (very similar) conversation going under it. But you're much more experienced with forum communication than me so I'd trust whatever instinct you have on this 🙂.

Using the add-ons above I feel would be the better option so that you were not posting pretty much the same thread in two places and it would be better for SEO I would have thought too unless I am mistaken.
