A Very Large Community

After noticing the amount of gaming forums, I've come to the conclusion that I'm interested in merging medium sized gaming/general forums into youdontgamelike.us. It would be basically a huge monopoly of forums and it would be really active. If you are interested, comment here with your link and I'll contact you if I'm interested.

Just giving feedback on your plan:

Merges often don't work to make the community more active that gets members, posts, topics from the merge.

Most of those members that are from an other forum merged into yours will turn inactive that where before active.

I'm not saying to not go forward with your plan.

I am just saying there is a high chance it won't work out as you want.

Thanks for the feedback but I don't need it. I know what I'm doing and I've merged a forum before which happened to turn into a success. Merging is a great way to boost activity, members, posts, and a lot more. Linking to an opinionated article where the administrator didn't know what he was doing isn't 'feedback' in my eyes.

It didn't say you were purchasing a forum. The reason I asked is because I wondered how you were going to get the forums to merge. If you are not purchasing, do you just expect Admins to give you their forum?

If you don't want feedback I don't know why you are posting in our "Brainstorming" section. Perhaps one of our Marketplace forums would be a more appropriate location for your topic?

Stick with your forum and work on it. Do avoid merging, in future you might face some administration issue.

Yes, i also agree, maybe fail gaming forums or dead would like to merge, but successful gaming forums won't do it for free

I'd just like to add that with how your forum is set up with subforums and such, a merge would take a long time, and I don't know how much another admin would like the current set up.

Large MyBB Forum!

Dear MyBB users,

I am interested in MyBB forums into youdontgamelike.us. We would be a family and it would be a great experience to watch our website grow from small sites into one large community. On top of that, If you didn't know, there's a MyBB merge system so all of your preview data could be transferred to the new site. :great:

Btw, I'll provide stats of youdontgamelike.us as of now:

Our members have made a total of 3,017 posts in 594 threads.
We currently have 263 members registered.

I'm still totally confused on this.

If I owned a gaming forum (I wish I did, haha!), why would I merge with you if you are not paying for my forum? If I worked hard for months on a forum, what do you offer to me to "bribe" me into merging with your forum?

Would you give access to things such as FTP, cPanel? Would I stay admin? Would you remain "full control" or would we all be equal owners?

Just would like to help get others information. 🙂.

If you are going to treat someone who is simply asking for clarification this way why do you think that anyone would want to merge their forum with you and be a co-admin with you? The way you treat members, on your forum or off, is how you are perceived to be overall on the internet. So far I see nothing, attitude wise, that would make me want to merge my forum into yours.

P U R P this is a public forum and it is not for you to say who can or can't post in topics. If you post in a public forum you should expect feedback and there is nothing to be gained from being rude to those who give it.
