I need some help with this. My forum doesn't get members very often, and when it does, they usually only get about 5-20 posts, and then they leave. The last member that got over 50 posts joined in March! I really need help and ideas to get new members and make them stay and post!
 
Members will never stick to a forum that does not have new content daily. Keep posting new content and interesting topics and they will join slowly.
 
It might be good to just send a mass email every so often although make sure that it is not to often. Make sure there is about 6 weeks - 2 months gap so members don't feel you are spamming them. It is probably just that they have forgotten the forum.

To get new members just keep advertising and keep the forum active and it will grow.
 
But you can never make members post. One thing is getting them to join, but its a whole other thing for them to post. Just a frustrating part of forum life.

Cloverfield has a lot of trouble getting members to post.
I would suggest telling family/friends about it.
 
I just took a look at your forum. It is REALLY big, and you have a few members coming there. I would suggest also not giving up, if you post a lot, eventually people will find your forum!
 
The tricks to get active members is endless but I'll narrow down what I do to keep certain members active. Some have been said before in this topic.

- Everyday create new topics in as many sections of your board as possible. Keep the content fresh and let there be something new for the members to discuss everytime they log on.

- Make the members feel special and that they aren't collective but individuals. PM them asking how they are doing, ask follow up questions to topics to make them post there again etc.

- Advertise, advertise, advertise. Go to every board possible with somewhat related category and advertise through signature and some sort of a website promotion section.

Those are the basics, follow these and you should eventually get active members. Hope this helps.

That's one of the most important things. Also make sure you reply to posts made by people, even if you don't necessarily like the topic, you can help to spark conversation by adding a reply. If it's about video games and you don't like them, just say something like "I havent played this yet, whats it about?" or something along those lines. That makes people want to explain things they enjoy to poeple.
 
my forum is too many leechers inside..
Every peoples just register and take they wanted then gone..
Nobody want to posts some reply, like " Thanks", "Good Job", "Keep Posting", "nice posts", Etc.. really confused how to make the forums lively..

All of them just do "HIT AND RUN" -🙁-
 
You could try making it so they have to have a certain number of posts before they can access/download/take whatever it is that you're offering.
