What are your suggestions if a forum goes a bit slow and they need activity?

Do some exchanges!

I see you only have 707 FP. Not a problem. Do some posts for people at like 10 FP / post. You'll get tons of requests. And in no time you will have thousands to spend for posts on your board.

Of course, there are other ways.
Start up a LOT of new topics on your board. Create topics that will probably attract new replies and views.
Some good topics I have noticed (on quite a few forums) are:
-Worst mistake the current president has made
-Worst technological advancement/discovery (or Best as well)
-Favorite _____ (insert whatever here, whether it be genre, store, music, sport, etc etc)

Those are just some ideas.

Create a ton of new and interesting threads, then start advertising 🙂

Advertising is the key. If you're really desperate for your forum to start receiving activity again, you can use posting packages from promoting sites. Not only that, but you can start adding new stuff to your forum, so members will probably start being active.
