Is it possible to add a custom search engine to your blog or forum? For instance, maybe adding a search engine that only draws results from Youtube or Wikipedia?

If you aren't planning on indexing those sites, which would be a huge job, then you could do something with Google Custom Search. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Google_Custom_Search. Here is their webpage: https://www.google.com/cse/. That should allow you to search those specific websites.

Google custom search is a good option to go with - less code editing. Just a simple replace of the search URL and you're in business.

I notice over the years that most forum software search engines are just not that great... Maybe more developers should be taking a Google approach with the software search features since searching is the thing these days.
