I do have other places to promote at besides FP i have just find a theme and modified it tell me what you think http://admintalk.net/mybb/index.php

If This Goes Will A Lighter Version Will Be Made.

(Still In Beta Fixing Bugs etc)

Make sure whether VB allows it. As far as i know, no paid software companies will allow you to use/port their design.

Someone Called nhtera converted it So i assume she would of got permissions otherwise she will get sued.

Going to ask vb if they gave permissions if they say yes will this be a good start?

(Is this a good theme)

Thanks 😀

I like 2.0 Inspire Aswill Making A lighter version then adding lots of content after this I will find A decent host or ask them to stay up or I need to move.

Seems reputations are beginning to precede some folks here.

Here is lesson that is crucial. As a site owner you must never make a public display no matter what is being said. You should be professional and counter with appropriate discourse. Once you get caught in Drama, it's hard to shake it off you.

I was always told, if you do not want something repeated do not say it or write it down. If it does not pass the Washington Post test as we Americans call it, then it's not worth it.

Lots of site owners are known for Drama, known for poor leadership and lack of professional regard and a multitude of other things. The objective is never to get classed into that group. Same goes for members, lots of internet Drama starters out there and in the end, what goes around comes around.

Best way to not get sucked in, is be calm about things and deal with heated issues off line.

Kavin,

Those were good recommendation, sorry I missed them earlier.

That's' precisely what's doing me in is past reputation. Also, the part I put in bold, TAZ, I think that may be too late already. Many of us have low regards towards Spudster and he knows exactly why, and it's very well for the reasons you stated as well..

As a site owner you must never make a public display no matter what is being said.

The part in quotes is what put you in hot water with some of us, Spudster. You've made a huge song and dance about your site, letting crap go on for far too long and it's because of this very thing that some of us are no longer buying it. You never check your work, so even if you spent a long time on it it is always sloppy, very unprofessional, very snappy during the heat of a moment, all of these and more are downright no-no's and some of us are past tired of it.

Thanks I think people are not happy because I closed the last few forums due to my good personal reason hope users can forget about this and give me a chance.

Kavin Suggested A Few Good Themes 😀

Please give me constructive" advice

My advice is, "Don't ask people to give you chance", because you don't have to. If few people (including me) are tired of the open/close pattern by you and don't join your forum, it won't be the end of the world.

You still can get others join your Forum. For that you should have a forum up for a considerable amount of time (atleast 6 months) without any issues or downtime.
1) find a decent host, as your current host seems to have lot of downtime. Go with established ones Hostgator, Hawkhost, etc.
2) Decide a theme before you open and once you open a forum, do not change the theme often. When i ran Script Installs forum, we had plenty of discussions, previews and bug fixes before we introduced a new theme (v2 theme). You can see ShadyX doing this in admin forums.
A theme represents your site, so you should not change it often, without any reasons. Only change a theme when you have a solid reason, and that too should be done after your older theme was used longer. From what i had seen in your previous sites, you change theme too often. That should be avoided as it shows your site is inconsistent and it will confuse your visitors.
3) Find a unique concept. If you have categories and descriptions that every other admin forums have, then obviously people won't have a reason to choose your site.

And no matter whether you get members or not, you should post around and try to keep the forum alive. You can do this with dummy accounts or post exchanges. Do not complain after a week or month that you don't get any active members, because seeing the amount of bad impression you created with open/close stuffs it might take even an year to get people trust you.
And do not give hacking, downtime, etc; as reasons for closing a board. A good webmaster will keep his site up inspite of all odds. When you are hacked, find the cause for the hack and correct it. When you have a downtime, make sure it won't happen again, or change host.

That's what blew it with me was that he asked me to give him another go. I've just had enough of it and while I really truly hate being the negative one, it's definitely necessary. Also, I agree with the hacking and all being an excuse to close a forum. If everyone in the world closed their forum because of it being hacked, there wouldn't be any forums left! Yes, I had considered a closure when we were hacked back in August of 2011... did that stop me, though? No! I kept pushing at it and despite this being the third time total that we'd been hacked, I'm not giving up because I enjoy running forums and all that goes with it. You'll never get any members if you keep closing forums due to hackings/downtimes because of your hosts, etc. One thing I do have to disagree with Kavin on are the dummy accounts. While those may work in the short term, they won't work in the long run, as people will figure out it's you eventually, especially if you're not good with inventing. But I would follow the advice about the post exchanges, packages, whatever. They will serve you in good steed and while they may not be good for long term, especially if your forum is over a year old, they will help you out in the short term.
