The real domain is what will be set up in the future, temp domain is what will be used in the mean time.

I understand that's what you did and that's what I'm telling you isn't right. You can't copy/paste something created by someone else without their permission or at the least giving them credit. I'm glad you gave them credit, but know for the future it's not a wise thing to do. Adding interesting content does not mean you plagiarize.

Either those sites got permission from the author, gave the original authors credit, weren't actually plagiarizing and created said piece themselves (perhaps under a different name if seen in multiple places), or they just haven't gotten caught...yet.

As far as tips on getting content, use of everyday experiences is always a good place to start. You've started an admin discussion board, so what things do you encounter or what things do you think about and wonder when working on your site? Read articles, magazines, etc. and get as much information on being a forum admin as possible so that you can create your own content. You can also use bits and pieces of articles you've read to start topics, but remember, GIVE THE AUTHOR CREDIT. You can often also e-mail the creator of the article (or what have you) and ask if it's okay to use the content--most of the time they will tell you that you can use part of the article and then link to the rest, but be sure to ask. If it's from an online magazine or something similar, you'll often find the information you need about using the information in the TOS provided, so make sure to read that over as well.

Other than that, as you get members, they'll also bring more content with them. I've also been told that quality exchanges and packages can also help to create content.

The bottom line is to be knowledgeable about your topic. You don't have to be an expert, but you do have to be knowledgeable about your niche.
