Have you used ad space on Twitter to promote your site? Or promote a specific tweet? How'd it work out for you? Did you find it useful? How much engagement did you get from it?
I can't say that I have looked into it myself if I am honest in terms of Twitter. Facebook has been the one I have looked into more in regard to advertising and the one that seems to get more praise for how well it works. Again though as much as I have looked into Facebook advertising I have not used it myself due to a lack of funds for advertising.
Twitter offers a variety of advertising options for businesses, including promoted tweets, promoted accounts, and promoted trends. These ads can be targeted to specific demographics, interests, and behaviors to reach the desired audience. Advertisers can also use Twitter's ad analytics to track the performance of their campaigns. Additionally, Twitter has a self-serve advertising platform, which allows small businesses to create and manage their own advertising campaigns.
I haven't dabbled with it for forums, but when I would market my books, I found little success came from paid-advertising, be it Twitter, Reddit, Google, or Facebook. The largest success I had with book sales is when I would leave the house and buy a table at a book convention. Not sure what the forum equivalent of that would be, haha. 😳
There are benefits to advertising on Twitter. Twitter tailors and shows these ads to users based on their interests, and if you're lucky, they'll be drawn to your website. But it depends on many factors. Totally worth it
