I just got this email today from AdSense:

Hello Cierra,

While going through our records recently, we found that your AdSense
account has posed a significant risk to our AdWords advertisers. Since
keeping your account in our publisher network may financially damage
our advertisers in the future, we've decided to disable your account.

Please understand that we consider this a necessary step to protect the
interests of both our advertisers and our other AdSense publishers. We
realize the inconvenience this may cause you, and we thank you in
advance for your understanding and cooperation.

If you have any questions about your account or the actions we've
taken, please do not reply to this email. You can find more information
by visiting

Sincerely,

The Google AdSense Team

I've got invalid clicks notices before, but never this one. Do any of you know why I would get this?

This is probably due to you breaking one of the Adsense Terms of Service. Adsense is very strict.

Sorry to hear that! 🙁 I've never gotten any scary notices from adsense before, but I've definitely heard of this happening before.

I recommend verifying that the email is real. It is very possible that this is just a scam to hack your adsense account. Make sure to NOT log in using the link it gave you, unless you verify that your account is actually disabled by visiting the adsense website from a link you know is real.

Anyway, good luck with the issue. I don't know what you can do about it, unfortunately.

I had my Adsense account banned a long time ago as well. It really caught me by surprise as well, and to be honest, I don't think they're completely honest with their practice. I tried to think exactly what it was that I might have done wrong, but I couldn't come up with anything.

I did think it was rather interesting that they decided to ban my account right before I reached my first payout.

They do that because they probably do a brief manual review of your account at that point OR they really are just dicks.

It's possible you were banned because you were delivering low value clicks to the advertisers. Who knows? The big G can do whatever it wants.

You should have a chance at an appeal if you can figure out what the issue is. Unfortunately, for now at least, Adsense is pretty unbeatable.

Because everyone gets this message eventually. They are very picky, and extreme sticklers.

Side note: Is adsense script based?

I'm sorry to hear about this OP. You should reply and ask for feedback from them if there is something you can change to be connected with their service again.

I'm sorry that happened to you Cierra. I wonder if there is any way to reverse it/dispute it? I hear this happens a lot that's why I'm not getting to excited about mine being fully activated now.

It really boils down to this. $100 is barely any money at all, but the more people you prevent from getting payouts later down the road, the more their profit margin increases. I did a ton of research on this right after I was banned, and it seems like a common thing. It just seems kind of shady that they'll let you advertise for months, and then pull the carpet out from under you. 😕

My thoughts exactly. I've seen it happen way too much.

Agreed about it being shady. Also, I think it's annoying that Google doesn't really have a customer support department, or any official source to get help from. They're one of the few companies that can get away with that.

Well it took me about 2 years to get unbanned. Hopefully it doesn't take you as long as me.

How did you get unbanned?

I'm pretty sure I could get a new adsense account through holderhost LTD.... As companies are treated separately from individual accounts.

It is! They really should warn you well before the cashout point that your account is at risk of a ban if X is not fixed.

When there was an issue with one of our websites, we got a message in the account centre in the 'Policy violations' section and had so many days to fix it and mark it as so.

Straight bans tend to be issued for more serious breaches, but do seem to happen more often in the early years.

I've been with Adsense now for a decade.

It sounds like you're one of the lucky ones. 😉 I wish it was more clear what are considered as violations or even a step by step guide clearly outlining how it all works. It's almost like looking at a car manual without an index.

I appealed the ban through a form on their website, and this is what I received in response:

"Hello,

Thanks for the additional information provided in your appeal, we appreciate your continued interest in the AdSense program. After thoroughly reviewing your account data and taking your feedback into consideration, our specialists have confirmed that we're unable to reinstate your AdSense account.

If you'd like more details on our invalid activity policies or review process, please visit [link]. As a reminder, further participation in the AdSense program by publishers whose accounts have been disabled is not permitted.

Thanks for your understanding,
The Google AdSense Team"

I'll probably look for another ad company now.

Unfortunately you only get one chance at appeal if you didn't know how you/ someone else was breaking Adsense TOS then they wouldn't re-instate your account.

Media.net might be the best alternative.
