I've installed ads below the first post in every thread on Forum Hour, and I've gotten 17 clicks in the past few hours. But my estimated earnings has remained at $0.00. What's up with that?

Is AdSense a good way to make money, or should I switch now?

Well how long ago did you set this up? It may take some time to configure into the system before you can actually see how much money you are making.

I've made a bit of money using it but not much, I get paid every click though 😛

Just yesterday, I think you're right. Maybe I'm just too impatient. 😱

How??! Is that an option, or does Google decide that for successful sites?

Well, I have only had 10 clicks in about two weeks so I'm not sure why you have so many, maybe one of your members thought it would be smart to try earn you money by clicking a little too much?

That's very possible. I'll have a talk with them, I think. Now that I think about it, it's a little weird. :S

I would look out, Google will ban your account if your members (or one of them) decides to help you out with a bit of clicking. That could be the reason why you're not registering any of those clicks as earnings.

17 clicks is a lot of helping! haha.

It takes a while for anything to really show up in the settings... But also beware that if you get a TON of clicks at first, Google may well disregard them thinking they were made trying to cheat Adsense. ( Since, depending on site size, some sites don't get that many clicks in the first few days. )

Also, payout only happens once you reach 100$. At 10$ you set your payment method (but first you have to jump through a few hoops... they mail you out a letter and give you a code you have to input, then you have to call a number they give you and that'll give you another code you have to put in, and then you have to verify some tax information).

My advice would be to keep the ads on your site for a month and then look at your Adsense reports and earnings to see if it is worth your while to keep them.

Once you have some reliable stats you could offer the ad slots for sale directly, at a price higher than what you are earning for the same slots on Adsense.

Good advice, thank you. 🙂
The only thing is that my PayPal account is frozen until I'm 18, so that kind of sucks. :S

That's a pity. If you can't accept payments via PayPal you can still use the same principle for other types of ads. If you have Adsense up for a month you will have an idea as to what you can earn from Adsense for each ad slot. You can then start experimenting with other Adsense alternatives to find one that gives you a better return than Adsense.

That's what I'm thinking as well. Unless a sudden surge of traffic came about.

I'm getting my PayPal moved to be under one of my parent's accounts, so it should be all good soon. Thank you for your tips though, they're well appreciated! Hopefully this gives some return, huh? 😉

So, I don't see if you fixed your problem. Have you made anything since you started using Adsense yet?
