i tryed this forum today and it is very good, but they dont have much themes, and not sure if you can download mods, the default theme is good

Does someone use this, could you tell me about it

Used it ages ago, quite liked the old dock integration but it just didn't cut it for me, couldn't draw me away from my IPB license.

There are soooo many unheard of forum softwares. Upon first discovering them, many appear amazing, but at the end of the day, softwares such as phpBB and IPB are most well known simply because they are the best.

Yeah that is true, i found these forums called xmb and phorum which is the original PHP and MySQL based Open Source forum software

I've heard of AEF, but never seen any forum in action with AEF before.

I hadn't heard of it until I saw this topic, but I really like the template they have on their forums. Wouldn't ever use the software though.

I would prefer to stick with the more well known and supported softwares like phpBB, SMF, MyBB, vb and IPB as they are more well used, more modifications/styles and users are more well used to the software and feel more comfortable using it.

Aef is very good and could easily beat most free forum software out there regarding looks and functions. Unfortunately it hasn't got many skins, mods and security updates or even a decent converter. 😛

But a forum software isn't going to grow big by itself, it needs a bit of support and contributors for resources. The staff need to be a bit more active too, apparently at one time all the scripting staff "became sick" so they couldn't work on the project for awhile. :rofl:

If this project is worked on seriously and gets alot of contributors I will use it in the future and many others will. They also need to work on the promoting the software because I only found the software by digging deep for it. lol
