I understand that you are frustrated; however, if you all cannot calm down I will contact a moderator and request this thread to be locked due to the elevation fighting. Web Hosting Fox is, again, willing to answer any questions, but we will not take this abuse. Again, if we cannot all be civil, I will request for this thread to be locked. We are trying to help, but this is not helping us to help you.

I didn't much rant. I was just so angry. And no, i'm not fighting or anything, so i don't see why this thread needs to be locked.

Ah, i just hope AH will be back soon...

Yes, but with the lost of 500 + posts...wonder if you guys can help get is back? in any way? contact the phpbb staff or anything like that?

If that was the only backup made, then there is no possible way to gain those posts back. PhpBB is just a software, not a database. It is your responsibility to make backups before MOD installations; it even says in the installation files, so you have willingly decided to take a risk without making backups.

We did restore the forum but he hasn't opened the forum in the last few days but you guys should be able to see the forum.

I know that, there is no reason to keep it closed. From there I wonder why we can't open it right now. If Joel would be ok with that and the rest of the admin team.

As I said earlier, its joel's fault for not taking backups. On my part I see the Web hosting fox staff trying to do their best when all you do is complain. They did everything for you from moving the forum, to helping with fixing errors, fixing numerous things. Its not their job for taking backups. Thats your job.

Its your fault for not backing up when your staff was installing mods. Thats why you should have just stayed on the freehost because you are obviously not ready to run a forum on your own when you completly rely on others to do everything for you.
You had people move the forum for you.
You had people setup the domain for you.
You had people install mods for you.
You basically didnt have to anything at all.

You should be doing this yourself. Im not being mean but this is the truth. That's what the freeforumhosts are for, they do everything for you because either you dont know how to, or you cant pay, or you are lazy.

My advice would be learn these things on your own, and not rely on others or the honest truth is your forum wont go anywhere at all. Good luck.

As much as I want to agree with you Kaiser, you have to learn somehow. How else are you going to learn how to run a forum, not by testing it on localhost, but by creating your own.

So I think Joel is doing pretty good, yea he isn't doing it himself but he is listening to what everyone says to do so he is learning already.

although it would be nice to know why AH is offline, it only says 2-3 hours but it has been much longer than that.

If you re read what I posted, my main point was that he has to learn it by himself, not that he isnt learning already. He needs to take chances and try stuff on his own, or he will always rely on others to do things for him.

I haven't updated the 2-3 hours part because i can't login to the forum myself...

i'm very sure we will be back by this week.

If you can login to phpMyAdmin, go in the database and edit the part where it says turn the board offline. It should be like a value of "1" or so. Turn it to "0" and the board will be back online. Once online you may be able to login. If not and its saying wrong password, change it inside the database. It will be a hash code, so you will need to use a hash generator to make a new password.

He should be able to login as he is user number 1, I maybe wrong though and yea Joel as chris said phpmyadmin is the only way.

Indeed those are both great idea's and they usually work so go ahead and try it oh and if you are not good at phpMyAdmin you should take a backup before trying the suggested it's pretty simple but wouldn't want you messing it up.
