A pal and I are starting a forum aimed at a certain type of electrical engineers. This is a large subfield of electrical engineering and there's not really a forum dedicated to just it. There's some that overlap just a bit, but as far as I know this will be the only of it's audience.

Just wondering if anyone has pointers for advertising to professionals in a certain career. I am, unfortunately, not very active on social media except LinkedIn.

My first and second ideas are to make a post on LinkedIn, and then also start posting on those other forums with a link in my signature. However, after that, I'm lost. Would paid targeted advertising be a good decision for this scenario?

edit: just realized I was a bit redundant in my title, went overboard with the "niche" usage.

Sounds like a swell idea. Anyway I suppose it would be some sort of applied math forum. Anyhow, there are plenty of math forums - as in math in general.

OK, besides the math, they could have sections on finding jobs, keeping jobs, any other ideas?
