Advertising on TV

Hmmh, i've never come across that before, it would be interesting to see if anyone has seen an improvement in activity from it 🙂

TV advertising can cost millions of dollars...

I wonder how much this costs and what stations they use with it.

Wouldnt be as effective as web advertising. At least on ad banners, your potential visitors can click on something and be taken instantly to your site. On tv, they'd have to remember a url and then visit the site when they get on the computer. Chances are they wont remember.

I'll will persoanlyl laugh at anyone who does this.

It won't do any forum any good. Unless it was a particular movie forum, and you could get your url on the dvd box, or actually in the movie previews 😀

Just, don't even go that route.

Yeah I don't think many people would remember a site's URL or even sign up for a forum.

Some people don't even know what a forum is or how to use it. And most people don't belong to any and probably won't join any.

If I had the money i'd do it right now just for kicks >.>

Plus i'd love to see the (GWN) logo in the middle of my favorite Spongebob episode 😀

I wish that they were free and I could broadcast it in a WW2 documentary.

lmao nice 😛

I had a friend who runs a religious forum who advertise his forum on TV in his town. I would've loved to seen what that ad might have looked like. I would rather advertise on the Web. Something that, like Theezy said, members can click on and follow along with. Not something that they would have to memorize a url.

Erm, it's a forum. No one will give two cents about a forum coming on their screen. Half my friends don't even know what a forum actually is. Anyway, as stated above, it is much easier and more effective to target your best audience: Active Internet users.

On TV? Not a good idea at all. Not only will people not care, but it's a major waste of money, and people don't want to have to write down and memorize a URL, and then run to the computer to type it in. It's different from memorizing a phone number.

@ Lord of Games - I agree 100%, who has time to jot down a URL they see on TV? Not everyone has a pen and pad handy.

But then again just add it to the bottom of the screen during the whole commercial 🙂
