Aerodynamik
Quick Review by pandaa

Analysis:

mostliked.webp Strengths:
  1. Lots of active members!
I was really surprised when I saw that a board with under 10,000 posts has had 32 members online in the past 24 hours. This is very commendable! I recognize a small handful of them, but there are a lot of names I've never heard of. It seems like most of your members stick around and actually post, which is again, pretty commendable. It's pretty hard to get to a point where your members start contributing; yet, it seems as if you're getting to that point right now. Whatever you've done to recruit members, by all means, keep it up. It's going to be pretty important to not let those members get bored with your forum. It should be a habit anyway, but introducing new features will help keep those members around, and help keep your forum's solid foundation for the future!
  2. A feeling of uniqueness. Overall, well rounded board!
Something about your forum feels rather unique. I visit quite a few forums, and something about yours feel a bit different from all the other ones I see. I notice quite a few things are different from the ordinary, whether or not it's the board descriptions, or the team names, or even the nifty little "250 Club." It's things like this that your members will realize they can't find elsewhere. On another note, I really feel like you have a sense of identity with your board. You know exactly where you're going, and you don't necessarily feel like you need to copy any other forum. Those are all things I feel when I visit your forum. It's amazing how much an impression can convey, and it really can dictate whether or not someone wants to stay. I'll comment on some of your services on a second, but on one hand, I really enjoy the amount of unique services you have. So often, I see a forum where all the services are something you could see in the same format, at another forum. In conclusion, good job at avoiding some common pitfalls.
disliked.webp Weaknesses:
  1. Too many advertising opportunities?
While I really appreciate the variety offered, I sometimes think that too much variety can be detrimental. It seems like your ads get used pretty equally, but not too often. I'd like to suggest that you remove a few advertising services. Maybe make a community poll and see which ones everyone likes the best, or just make a gut call about which ones give the most exposure. I think it clutters up your forum a little bit, and people might not want to take the time to choose when there are five options. Optimally, I think you should aim for about two or three, at this stage. Gauge your community's feeling; if they are missed, by all means, bring them back! Also, as a side note, make sure to check out how your "Button Board" ads look on a smaller screen. They bunch up on my screen, and it doesn't look too good. I know most people have a large screen than me, but it's still worth investigating!
  2. Subforums could use some rearrangement.
I don't really think you have too many subforums, which is a major plus. However, I'd like to see them moved around a little bit. Luckily for you, you have a decent amount of activity, which gives us a nice amount of wiggling room! Here's a short list of what I would suggest you do.
    • Get rid of "Staff Updates". Announce them in the "Community Updates & News" section instead.
    • Move "Meet & Greet" to the very top. It'll make newcomers feel a lot more welcome.
    • Move "Employment and Staffing" to another location. I'm not exactly sure where it fits best, but it really doesn't belong as a service, because it's not run by your staff.
    • Get rid of "Intellectual Discussions." I'd just encourage them to be located in the "Social Lounge." I think this will help increase quality of posts in the lounge as a side effect.
    • Do something with "Community Challenges" and the "Board of the Week" boards. I feel like they could easily be combined. Right now, they basically function as the same thing, just in a different spot.

Final Remarks:
Your board was a pleasure to review! I normally do not like forums that run Zetaboards, but yours seemed a bit different. I hope I pointed out a few things that you can change. Overall, work on establishing your identity a little more. I noticed that you were missing a slogan, which would be an easy thing to come up with, given a snappy name like "Aerodynamik." Good luck in the future! 🙂
