Age For Staff

Yea some of the best staff members I have ever seen have been younger. For example, carsonk was an FP legend and he was pretty young. Age= Not a factor.

Well, I don't want members that's just born.

I don't care if they are 13 years old or 48 years old. As long they can be mature and responsible, I'm cool.

I dont think I would ever employ someone under 16, to be honest I think all my moderators on both my forums are older than me (I'm 21) although on one forum there arent any members below 18 I dont think, and the other forum you have to be 16 or over to join.

Do you have any reasons?

Just not convinced that someone under 16 would be that reliable, from past experience with working with people under 16 thats what I've found.

Having said that, I intend on having a teen section on my Pagan forum once we have a good number of teens, so will be employing a teen mod then, although they may still be between 16 and 19.

Age has never been a problem for me, Since i'm only 16 myself, It would be rather hypocritical of me to not hire someone because of their age. I've come across many people that are very surprised when they find out my age, so yeah, age isn't everything, Maturity is much more important.

I admit, I have a age requirement. I don't take any staff 16 or under. I might make an exception depending on the situation.

As long as they pass COPPA laws, I would hire them if they were mature.

I don't allow anyone younger than 13 on my site's team, but as long as they're that age or older I don't care that much, as long as they act alright.

From my experience I would say hiring younger people does help as they've got the time to dedicate to the forum.

But on the other hand hiring older people such as those who are doing A-levels/Uni/jobs don't have as much time to put in, but are a lot more responsible and do more to help out and organize events and help with adding things to the community.

I never have problems with age. It just isn't something that comes up a lot.

When I'm looking for a person to hire I the question of age doesn't come up.

If they're active, dedicated, and passionate about the job, they get it. It doesn't matter whether they're 9 or 99 as long as they put forth the effort.

On a general note, it does seem that later teens to adults fit the requirements more often than younger people, but if you hire the right people it doesn't matter what age they are.
