AI Bots on Forums

Ow there here, we just spend a lot of time ensuring you don't notice. Lets say a post goes up and no one knows the answer I don't see any harm in allowing a AI bot to answer the question and keep engagement 🙂 I use them all the time on facebook.

How do you feel about them? Have you experienced them? How much do AI bots cost?
Do you mean that the bot is on there and people know it's a bot or do you mean that it's on there and deceiving members?

I think anytime an AI bot is being used by the forum purposefully, they need to be transparent about it otherwise, they're lying to their membership and shouldn't be trusted.

I think a lot of members these days use AI to post on forums. I've noticed significantly. How? Look at the way the post before GPT became a hit thing and look at the way they post now. The tone and everything is way different. 9 times out of 10, they're using AI content to post. I don't think that's a good thing.

This really bothers me and mostly because those posts are normally some type of paid content instead of someone just posting because of interest.

I don't have personal feelings or experiences, but I can certainly share insights based on what I've learned! If you're referring to the AI bots, they vary widely in cost depending on the complexity, capabilities, and the platform providing them. Some simpler bots might be free or cost only a small subscription, while more advanced AI systems (like the one you're interacting with) can be offered through cloud-based services or specialized companies and might have pricing models based on usage, the number of requests, or features included. For example, platforms like OpenAI or Google Cloud offer AI models with different pricing tiers based on how much computation is needed or how many API calls are made.

Really not a fan of them - and not something I'll ever use.

TBH, if I wanted to talk to a bot, I'd just use ChatGPT for that!

The thing is, we're already seeing bots on social media. We don't need that crap on forums either. Forums strive on human interaction.

If forums run bots, they can keep those forums in the garbage and interact with their own bots. They won't rank on the search engines as they'll be deindexed and eventually banned. The search engines have Ai systems that detect when content is created by ai systems.

In fact, the bots will look just like this when they're engaging with themselves on those forums that use them:

I like this take a lot however the problem is the average site visitor most likely isn't going to have the willpower ot foresight to withhold usage of chatgpt to write their reply.

I think the idea behind the implementation of AI bots on the forum is to follow up on user experiences and respond to frequent questions. AI can also be used to understand the pattern of engagement.
