I used it a while, it actually helped my Alexa ranking a good deal but I got tired of it hijacking my search results all the time.

This nowhere near spyware. In fact when people go to sell their sites, a lot of people look at the Alexa rank including me. It shows approx how much traffic the forum/site gets as well as other demographics of the site.

If you have Firefox installed (which you should) i suggest you install the Alexa toolbar. It goes on the status bar of your browser, on the bottom. I would also advice all your guests to get it as well.

Alexa means nothing, and yeah it is spyware. It sends info to amazon about your browsing habits which you don't know what they may do with it. Anyone installing toolbars deserves to have spyware though anyway 😛.

I think DreamACT must be an all knowing entity to know how google ranks sites exactly. You should publish your work and silence all SEO specialists once and for all, all they have to do is install alexa on a bunch of computers and repeatedly visit their sites

Where on earth did I say that? I know enough about Google and Alexa to know that if your Alexa is ranked well enough you will already see the benefits of Google.

I never said they were one in the same.
