I fell victim of debit card fraud today. They stole $30, and attempted a $2000 transaction. My bank stopped them on the $2000 but they managed to get $30. I'll get it back, but will take 10 days. I've added 2 factor authenticator to my bank login and cancelled all cards associated with my bank.

Wondering what they got for $30? Here it is....

That's hilarious that he spent it on Micky D's but sorry this happened to you. Is it a local Micky D's? Go get the footage if it is.

My mother had been a victim of fraud before, but more recently when it came to a "fake" company stealing her money but that was when she fell into their deception one day from an innocent phone call. Sucks that this has to happen nowadays, and you need to be on your wits at all times.

No pickles? Who are these hooligans?

Seriously though, glad its been sorted and that you didnt lose any money.

So far I not had this problem I never carry my bank card arround unless I am going to the bank
I always use cash for shopping

Recently around here there’s been a spate of scamming calls involving people pretending to be the old bill.

Saying themselves that they are investigating fraud in the area and need you to make a transaction for some reason. It’s caught out one of the local old boys. Banks been warning people now.

I once had someone ring me from “Microsoft” telling me I had a virus and they could delete it with remote access if I paid them. That was a fun chat.

I've had that call from Microsoft too. I used a VM with Windows XP and let him do whatever he wanted lol. Ahh...fun times. I wasted a lot of his time that day.

I was thinking of getting that identity theft protection for me and my elderly mom. Seems worth it and there are so many loopholes for those thieves.

More and more things like this has been happening. Just this past year, locally we had several people go through town scraping card info from atms and gas pumps.

This is the real crime here.

Card fraud sucks though, I'm glad they only got away with a crappy McDonalds meal.

Someone tried to use my credit card to buy motorcycle parts in Florida once. Thankfully my bank denied it and called me right away to get it sorted. That would have been expensive 🙁

I never really check my account as it's always scary
