Android or Apple ?

Let's just say a green robot beats a fruit. I like droids better.

I say yes for sure, in 2010 stats it did beat, in fact apple was third after android and symbian. So I m sure in future either apple will become open source like android or android will go way ahead.

You can't predict how the future will evolve for the mobile market. The iPhone is slowly (but surely) losing it's "WOW!" factor since every age uses the single handset produced by Apple. The iPhone caters for those locked in the Apple ecosystem, or who enjoy the iOS experience.

Google on the other hand, with Android, has trouble with fragmentation (and malware, etc.) with updates and handsets. The constant patent suits, licensing agreements and more puts pressure on the OEMs, but handsets sell. You'd think that a platform loved by power users wouldn't be able to top a consumer-worshipped tech company, but carriers have poured incredible amounts of effort and funding into the platform.

Where's Windows Phone? Being the OS that has caught the eye of not only the top tech blogs, won countless awards at CES 2012, and is predicted by multiple analysts to overtake iOS by as early as 2013. Let's not forget how massive Microsoft is. An endless supply of investment can work wonders, especially when the world's best known handset manufacturer is on board. I'm more interested to see how true integration is applied for Windows Phone, Xbox LIVE and Windows 8.

tl;dr you can't predict what will happen.

The iPhone has cooler cases, Zoom lens attachments for the camera, and other accessories compared to most Android phones which has none or very few compared to the iPhone accessories and add-ons which might attract stylish and female mobile users to the iPhone because of cooler cases and accessories for it.

First of all, it's Android vs. iOS, not apple.. Android is software. Android 4.0 is the best software (WP7.5 is also amazing).... iOS5 is good, but not as efficient :/

In what ways is it not efficient? I find it it be fine at what it does, and certainly more efficient than Android.

I say neither.
I rather Nokia as they are doing windows.
But if I had a choice Android and it is a Linux based OS

I think that as long Apple has his good quality reputation, Android'll never win in sales. When people realize Apple isn't as good (quality/price) Android can win. But yeah, the Internet Explorer group will never buy an Android.

But Android will certainly beat Apple in quality.

Actually change what I said the other day. I rang up vodafone today. because my Nokia E7 was playing up for the 5th time. so instead of putting it into repair I they
offered me a new phone of my choice.

and usually I hate apple, but I have been using my brothers Ipod touch for the last few Weeks. so i decided to get a Iphone.

Andriod already "beat" apple in my opinion. It is just a matter of time before iphone dies, or apple is forced to lower the price of their products.

Android is my answer hands down I own and Android and I've never really enjoyed Apple, its to conformist and I hate conformity. And for those who said Apple wheres the 4G!! I don't see Apple using that Android all the way baby!!

Because 4G came out after the Iphone 4S. Iphone 5 which comes out in a matter of months will have 4G. But as I said I used to be with Nokia now I am going with apple

Nokia = Windows
Apple = IOS
HTC/samsung/ and thing with android = Linux

So you are technically choosing from the main OS systems now days

I had an Evo 4g through my work as well for quite some time and liked it. The battery life was terrible but adding an additional battery, while it made the phone quite thicker and heavier, made battery life a non-issue for me. I think the Evo 4 is a great phone. My work switched me to an iPhone 4s and I've been happy with that as well. At first getting used to the new location settings was a bit of a change. Not bad, but a change. I was also very confused looking for my task manager app to kill apps. Once I found how to do it on the iPhone I was killing apps ritualistically until a coworker told me not to worry about it. Apparently having apps active doesn't appreciably affect battery life on the iPhone. Very cool! So I thought that was an advantage. Overall the main difference I've seen besides the battery life was the overall polish and smoothness of the iPhone over the Evo/Android. That and a few more apps that I've found that I couldn't, at least at the time, get on my Android phone.

That being said, I think you should stick to what you feel you want. With an Android phone in general you can customize more on your phone to make it look more how you want it. On the other side you may find like I did that the "polish" and overall function is smoother on the iPhone. If you're curious and what you've seen of the iPhone makes you want to try it, I think you should. I don't think you'll be disappointed since you already have a good idea of what it will be. If you're not that curious from what you've seen, get another Android phone. I really don't think there's any right or wrong answer to this question. Both products have pros and cons, both are really good products. I think those who view the question as some type of holy war are really misguided. It just comes down to what you individually prefer. So go with that and I don't think you'll be disappointed either way. Oh, and in most (I think) places you can return your phone within 30 days, so if you're really not sure about the iPhone give it a try and you can return it if you're not happy with it. Again, I don't think you can go wrong either way.

Android already has a bad rep for their laggy touch response compared to apple.

So no I do not see it happening at all.

I heard modified Android Tablets like the Amazon Kindle Fire and Barnes and Noble Nook Color which both use Android Gingerbread are doing very good because Amazon and Barnes and Noble uses a custom theme/template for Android which is easier to use then the default Android template for newbies.

I think Tablets and Smartphones which modify/fork the Android OS to work better and easier for the common user will make Android more popular.

Sort of like Linux Mint which is easier to use then Ubuntu, but Linux Mint is based on Ubuntu, and Ubuntu is easier to use then Debian, but Ubuntu is based on Debian.

Debian uses the Linux Kernel to build its operating system, so its not a command line operating system, or a more complicated OS like Linux without the visual user interface.

Yes of course android will beat apple because it is selling more than apple.
