Long story short, I disagree with this whole post.

Android has the chance of getting viruses and malware. Apple doesn't! Your phone is faster without being Jailbroken. I don't know how it can be faster Jailbroken. With android a new phone comes out every 2 weeks practically. With apple it is 1 a year, with a major iOS upgrade every year, and many small ones in between. And apple just sold 11.8 million iPads, 35 million iPhones, 4.4 million macs and 7 million iPods. In one financial quarter! I don't see android doing that good with 1 phone, 1 tablet, 1 MP3 player and 1 computer. Even though they don't have a computer.

Android doesn't make phones. And Android leads the cellphone OS market share by far.

It's all personal preference, I wish people could just understand that and stopped saying retarded ish.

Android OS may lead the market, but they have hundreds of phones and iOS only has a handful, not a great achievement to be honest 😛

My vote goes to Android, however, they need to step their game up where apps are concerned. When I had an iPhone, I paid for quite a few apps that haven't yet, or won't see the light of day on Android, however, I have found and utilized workarounds for getting what I need, and I have been in touch with a dozen or so developers about the apps I bought being ported over, and have been told that they are on their way, so even apps isn't much of a problem.

I just wish that the developers who have apps in both markets, would have a team solely dedicated to each OS. I am sick of seeing like 10 updates for an app on the iOS version in a 2 week period, when there hasn't been an update in more than a year for the same app on Android. Whether Android overtakes iOS remains to be seen, but I think that since it has been stated that Android makes up more than half of the smartphone market, that the new apps should be coming in and so too should the updates.

I wouldn't say that having a huge selection of phones would be anymore a drawback than having a huge selection of cars. It all comes down to personal choice. You don't have to pick all of them, just the one that suits you best. If you choose to have the same device again and again, with minor improvements and no major difference other than a different facade and adding a number and 1 or 2 letters at the end of it, and you can't customize it unless you void your warranty, then that is your choice. I choose to have a variety of device options as extensive as my ability to customize them. I do loathe the OS names though and find them juvenile, but I suppose that that is another topic for another day.

The Amazon Kindle Fire which uses the Google Gingerbread operating system is gaining a large marketshare in the Tablet space, and I think once Amazon releases the a ten inch tablet with a microphone and camera found in other tablets like the iPad 2-3 then it would probably have a bigger following.

There are also rumours online that Amazon is going to release an Android phone close to the end of the year : http://thedroidguy.com/2012/05/is-amazo ... phone-too/ If this is true, a lot of people might buy an Amazon Android phone because it's going to be cheap, and well made like the Kindle Fire.

The Barnes and Noble Nook Color and Nook Tablet also seem to be doing well in the Android Tablet market.

And the majority of these Android phones are superior to Apple's terrible devices. 😉

In computer science, there is no 100% way to prevent all viruses. Ask any computer scientist. Macs and iPhones do indeed get viruses and malware. Also my friend says that his Android is faster than his Mac. Your point is invalid.

Android is getting popular and developing day by day. I like would like to go with Android.

Android, i personally don't like Iphones..

Macs don't get PC viruses. Macs get viruses, but they are very rare. And apple patches them right up. And iOS doesn't have malware or viruses. If it does, it isn't extreme at all and apple patches it. But I wouldn't consider that to be a virus or malware. And Android is a phone software, Mac is a computer. You can't compare the 2. And of course your gonna get different speeds based on the Internet speed.

You said that apple sold 35 million iPhones and said Android should try doing that with one phone.. Apple comes out with 1 phone every year so obviously there will be more hype over 1 phone. Plus, Android is software, not a phone company. But, I assume you mean android powered phones so lets go with that. Your statement is basically the same as saying Android made $xxxxxxxxx with 10 phones, let's see apple do that.

I am aware android is software not hardware.

Maybe there is so much hype over the iPhone becuase we will know then what android will have.

Blackberry!
ooo wait this if or Android or Apple.
I prefer android but blackberry wins (OS 2.0).

Android I.E Galaxy SIII Will always triumph over apple, Being the first QUAD Core processor in a phone aswell. It is just superior

I'll definitely go for Apple. Apple has very high tech stuff, not just phones. I absolutely love them!

You could have a quad core processor running 5GHz but if you'd software doesn't run well then it's bad. iPhone's have a dual core processor and the software runs smooth with it. Android not so much.

And also, android doesn't make quad core phones. The manufactures do.

-- 13 May 2012, 13:21 --

Yeah, Of course, I have a Samsung galaxy ace, and yeah I can tell some lag compared to iPhone they are all with their flaws. To be honest, there is not a defined better phone.

android as a whole, i think could and will beat apple.

apple has great phones but it is only one company, versus android who has many phone manufacturing companies as well as software developing companies behind it. With more people behind the scenes on android, i think it will soon start to have more and better features than apple as well as better phones
