Animals on public transport

A couple of cities around New Zealand have been asking for public input about allowing animals on public transport so it's made me wonder what others would think of it?

What are your thoughts on allowing animals on public transport and what are your thoughts especially when public transport is busy and say someone needs a seat but it's taken by someone's pet.

I think it's fine for people to bring their pets on public transportation. They could be bringing their pets to the vet, you just never know. As long as they keep their dogs on a leash and other pets in a carrier.

As long as the pets are well behaved I don’t see much of an issue. If the public transport is very busy however then they absolutely should not be taking up a seat.
