Animated Logo for Forums?

I've wanted to learn Adobe Animate for a while and this seems like the perfect starter project! I made a vector logo in Illustrator that I'm going to try to animate as you requested once I get a little bit more time 🙂

Give it a shot if you have time 🙂 The yarn looks really cute.

I played around with Animate for about an hour now, and jeez that's a difficult program to learn! This might take a couple of weeks, hehe.

Did it cost a lot to purchase?

I wouldn't care for them on forums but for a company website, then yes, it would be good.

What's the difference between having one at the top of the main page of the forum where you will scroll past it anyway and a webpage where you'll scroll past it anyway?

One or two is fine to have on a forum however going to a site that has them everywhere is irritating like ads flashing everywhere.

I don't know why anyone would need more than one? I mean, really it should only be the logo or a banner and that's it.

Well, my logo is static on the left however I have a banner on the right-side advertising one of the other sites, what I was getting at was going to sites that have flashing banners all over the main page and again between every second post.

Ads are ok as well but if they are all flashy it tends to be a turn-off for many as it takes away from reading.

On a company website, I would expect it, but for just a forum, I prefer just a static image in the banner. That is my preference.

I don’t think animated logos look very good. I’d keep them static in my opinion as it looks more professional.

I personally find them very distracting. I can't stand it when something is animated because with my ADD my eyes focus on it endlessly.

If it only cycles once through and not a loop does it still bother you?

I really do not enjoy them. Maybe save the energy for a holiday or special event logo, but having it 24/7 is mildly distracting on a service that is essentially just reading content.

I think some of you might be confused in thinking I'm referring to an animated gif and that's not what I'm asking about here. A motion logo basically has a flow once you arrive at the site. That's it. It doesn't keep going as an animation constantly and isn't like this:

Oprah Hand Outs GIF

That would definitely be annoying, isn't professional and is not what I'm referring to at all.

There is not much choice if we are going to use an animated image. It is mostly a GIF, looped or not 🙂

I thought SVG is an option? Am I wrong in that? I haven't looked into it too much to know.
