Answer thread in OP?

I don't think it matters, but I often answer my own question that I'm asking in a thread. 😛
Should the person creating a question thread on a forum provide their own answer (to the question they're asking) in the same (1st) post?

I've actually thought about this question!!
Sometimes on Christianity Haven I'll ask a question before I fully have my own answer formulated. So I post the question and come back later after I've thought about my response and then post it.
On a lot of other forums, I'm not sure I'll return, so I try to answer the question within the OP.
I think they mean for threads such as what's your favorite color?
I usually answer the question in the OP if I'm making the thread. I feel like it helps generate discussion more than just "what's your favorite color" and leaving it at that without giving your own response.
Doesn't really bother me either way though if the OP does it in their own thread. I would hope they would return at some point to share their own response to the question though.
