New deep-cover agents have unsurfaced rumours that Sir Anthony Hopkins may be setting the easily escapable death traps as the villain in the upcoming Bond movie.
The Sun is reporting that their "source" has revealed that it's almost a done deal but there is one thing holding the Oscar winner back from signing on.
"The only stumbling block seems to be the number of films he is signing up for," the "source" said. "There is a chance the character they want him to play could become a regular feature, like Blofeld back in the day."
Where this leaves the previously rumoured villainous status of Javier Bardem in any of this is anyone's guess.

'Bond 23' (rumoured to be titled Red Sky At Night) is due out next year to coincide with the 50th anniversary of Bond's first big screen adventure Dr No.
Meanwhile, Hopkins can next be seen onscreen as the Norse God Odin in Kenneth Branagh's comic book adaptation Thor (opens April 28), quickly followed by his portrayal of an unorthodox, demon exorcising, Vatican priest in the religious-horror The Rite in May.
