Hi, looks like some spammers are using both bots and human spammers to target our forum. I think this is a common issue where Flarum forums are targeted. I tried both reCAPTCHA and hCAPTCHA, but spammers are still finding their way through.

So I enabled post moderation for beginners on AdminWeb.me

If you are posting on AdminWeb and are asked to wait for approval, please don't mind. I will attend to it soon or white list your account if you inform me here or via PM.

Thanks.

That's too bad spammers have to be like that & ruin a good forum experience. Thank you for letting all of us know 🙂

I was listed as a spammer on one forum, but then the admin approved my account anyway. I had a spammer only spam a thread about Spider-Man coming to PC or so on my forum.

Personally, I should be happy. Spammers target forums that they think are getting attention.

Looks like the moderation first policy helped. But I still have to deal with those flags manually.

I really thought that CAPTCHA would be effective.

Yeah, my forum gets very little attention and got targeted. I am the only admin and mod there besides a friend who is loosely involved with the day to day.

It is hard to stop human spammers. They are paid for by marketing companies solely for this purpose.

I have a small Flarum forum running as well and recently had a huge influx of spammers, I never had any antispam measures' setup (my bad). However, I set up the reCAPTCHA plugin and StopForumSpam plugin and so far I had no spammers on the forum, I also deleted the spammers from our database to be safe.

But yeah, Flarum seems to be attracting a lot of spammers for some reason, not sure why though 😕
