Antihistamines can make you gain weight!

I've been reading a lot of articles this morning about antihistamines and weight gain. My allergies were really bad for the past two weeks so I've been taking Allegra. I noticed last weekend that my wedding rings were hard to get on and off and I've been eating less food in hopes of rectifying it to no avail. I stepped on the scale and have gained 2 pounds since starting the Allegra and that shouldn't be since I reduced my caloric intake. I'm sick of salads. I'm stopping the Allegra and achoo will happen!

Mainly has to do with the body reaction to attempt to soften the damage by swelling. I tend to swell when I get sinus infections, and no amount of medications can prevent it.

Maybe, I should give them a try then, I literally have the opposite problem lol

To the best of current scientific knowledge, antihistamines do not directly cause weight changes, but rather alter your appetite and diet.

I would be interested to see if antihistamines are related to breakdown or storage of fat, but there's no evidence for that yet.
