I find myself saying that when I retire I would like to take the time to learn another language. However, I realize that with all of these resources (often times free as well) available online there's really no reason to not start right now. I just need to pick one and start studying. Spanish would definitely be useful.

How about you? Do you already know multiple languages? Any desire to learn how to speak and/or write in another language?

I love learning languages. I'm an introvert so I honestly do better with written words than oral. Learning languages as well as the various cultures has always been fascinating to me. I took Spanish in High School & could get by conversationally. I taught myself Sign Language years ago. I dabbled in Japanese, Mandarin, & Korean.
What motivates you to learn? For me, it's the thrill of being able to communicate with others.

Because I have a darker tan and living where I live, folks approach me all the time assuming that I'm a Spanish speaker. It can get awkward because I find myself explaining that I'm actually Filipino and end up giving a history lesson on how the Spaniards occupied the Philippines for hundreds of years. lol It's pretty hilarious because my husband is your typical American white guy with blue eyes and he speaks Spanish fluently, he is constantly having to save me from conversations. I really do just need to knuckle down and learn how to speak Spanish.

I have no motivation or desire to learn another language. I live in a small town where everyone speaks English. I rarely hear any one speaking Spanish or another language.

I've thought about wanting to speak another language but I don't think I have enough free time. If I had enough free time, I'd probably want to learn another language.
