I’m into Sci-Fi with a touch of Fantasy. Nothing gory or horror. With some sense of humor to lighten even the darkest of storylines. I’m curious if people have read some good books that were made into movies & vice versa. I have several that I have read & watched. While it’s great reading, with Sci-Fi, I like comparing with a movie to help better get the visual that is lost in just words.

Frank Herbert's 'Dune' is close to the top of my list. Not the easiest of reads and it proved rather hard to turn into a movie. I still rate David Lynch's much criticized version to be a flawed masterpiece.

H.G. Well's 'War of the Worlds' is a great book and a much easy read. The two films are both good, the second film surprising so.

Philip K. Dick has written some great Sci-Fi much of which has been turned into good movies e.g. 'Blade Runner', 'Total Recall', 'Minority Report', 'The Adjustment Bureau'.

John Wyndham is a particular favorite of mine, 'The Midwich Cuckoos' and 'The Day of the Triffids' being at the top of my list.

Ooh! Thank you for this list! My husband & I watch more TV in the winter when we are cooped up inside so I wanted to get a jump on some ideas.
You must be into Sci-Fi as well I take it.

Dune (2021) was an amazing movie. I'm eagerly waiting for the 2nd one and hope that it will be just as good.
