Any improvments/feedback for PC?

Re: Any improvments/feedback for GH?

Maybe move off of free hosting.

Re: Any improvments/feedback for GH?

You'd be dead if you'd see me doing that.

Or have a very massive mental issue.

Re: Any improvments/feedback for GH?

I don't think its a wise idea to own a geek site if you can't spend some money. It doesn't classify you as much of a geek.

At least get a domain.

Wow your cool. Don't ask for opinions if you can't take constructive criticism.

Re: Any improvments/feedback for GH?

I can take constructive criticism it's just that paid forum hosting is ridiculous overpaid, trash, that is not even worth getting. No offense, but I was looking for something more eh. I actually changed forums so I'm gonna change it.

Re: Any improvments/feedback for GH?

Maybe to you it is, but members usually don't want to join a site that looks like "www.somethingforum.freeforumgarbage.com"

Also, It is worth it.

It's not on freeforums. It's phpBB. I need to use that .lifelessforum host because even I can't imagine me paying for that worthless junk.

It's limited and it isn't worth paying one cent for.

I mean, actually get a hosting, free or paid and download and install your own software. If you can't you are mega lazy.

@Taz - I am pretty sure that Snobo owns LifelessForum. Which means, he probably is hosting him.

@Hiocoie000™ - I would definitely recommend that you at least buy a domain.

Yes, my posting is him.

Mr.BreeZy.... just please change the subject please dear god change the subject...

Well where to start? A theme other than the default would be nice, saying that you refuse "to pay for that garbage" isn't something that is going to get you any members. It comes as standard these days that a domain and hosting are bought before opening your forum.

Saying you are not going to pay for that "garbage" will not give anybody any motivation to join your forum, they will most likely think "im not going to join that garbage" and move on.

There are hardly any posts, before opening a forum you should have posts and topics in all the forums to spark discussion.

It is difficult to see what your forum is about, things are not layed out properly and some forums don't even have descriptions :/

Are you going to be leaving for a certain amount of time (or forever)?

That would make people leave your forum forever.

Guys, let's not start arguing in this topic. Constructive criticism is fine, but arguing is not. 😉 Most of you have been giving constructive criticism so far, but let's avoid rude comments.

Explain that to me. The News section is OBVIOUS. Come on.

Because it feels as if you don't really care about your forum, you refuse to make the most obvious of investments (Hosting/Domain) claiming they are garbage :/

I know. How many times do I have to say I'm not paying for that garbage.

I don't know what you would be paying for with "free hosting" and you can get shorter domains that are free such as co.cc but since google no longer index's that one in particular then it's not very useful but there are plenty of others.

You seem like a very angry person. What do you think your forum will achieve by having an admin who isn't willing to spend a couple dollars on the users? What are your actual goals? Do you think any forums get anywhere without at least a few dollars invested.

As for other stuff, I would atleast change off from the default theme, it's just not that nice. Another big thing is that it's really hard to tell what your forum is about. There's not many sections but I cannot figure the niche. Possibly general?

Look, I'll be blunt. If you do not care enough about forming a community that you're seriously not worth putting up maybe $10 a year for a domain and free hosting or even like $22 a year for a $1 host and domain then don't bother your time starting a forum. I would like to note I do not want anyone who runs a forum on something like this to take offense to this, your situation may be very different. It's your attitude to the situation that kills it. People here have only suggested these things to help you, generally from previous experience and just general knowledge of what a forum needs to succeed these days.

Take what I have said however you want, but before you possibly go ahead and get angry about all this, think to yourself calmly and thoroughly, what will attract people to want to join my forum? Wat can I actually offer them to make them want to register and be active on mine compared to everyone elses.

I'm not paying for anything. All of that stuff isn't worth paying for. Also, SOMEBODY couldn't get me a theme because I don't know how to download it.

Google how to change a phpBB theme and I am sure you can find plenty off tutorials. It's one of the simplest things to do.

Also may I ask, why is it that you find things aren't worth paying for? Is it that you don't care about your members or the forum?

I prefer free hosting. It makes your life easier, and paying for hosting isn't worth for. I would probably be using ZetaBoards right now if I couldn't share hosting.
